Wilma W. Hall Bethea, 100, of Lake Placid went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 18, 2023 at the Bedrock Care at Southern Life Assisted Living in Lake Placid. Wilma was born in Robert's Cove, Louisiana and was the daughter of Susie (Robinson) and William Winchester. Wilma has been a long time resident of both Immokalee and Lake Placid. She was a farmer, an administrator for the Honorable Circuit Judge Richard M. Stanley, president of the Florida State Clerk of Courts Assoc. Wilma was of the Baptist Faith who enjoyed cooking for others, a great love for quilting, sewing. She loved the very large family get-togethers, spending time with family and friends. Wilma is preceded in death by her beloved parents: Mr. and Mrs. William Winchester; husbands; Walter C Hall and R.A. Bethea "Junior", daughter; Myrna Hall Hayes son; Cecil Hall, son-in law; Cletus Childers, sister; Willa Faye Faia and brother; James Winchester. She is survived by her loving daughter; Ima Sue Hall Childers, son; Creigh Hall (Connie), brother William Winchester, 14 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in Wilma's memory to the Florida Sheriffs Boys Ranch (Youth Ranch), the National WWII Museum in New Orleans and St. Jude. A service to celebrate Wilma's life will be held 12:00 Noon, Friday, August 25, 2023 at the Scott Funeral Home, 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid with Rev. Peggy Benson officiating.
