William R. (Bill) Fowler, 79, of Lake Placid, FL, went home to be with the Lord on Monday morning, February 13, 2023, (his 58 th Wedding Anniversary) at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born on February 16, 1943, in Butler, PA and was the son of the late Roy K. and Elizabeth (Euler) Fowler. Bill has been a resident of Lake Placid since 2012, moving from Charleston, WV. He was a retired computer programmer with many years of service with Union Carbide Company and EDS. He enjoyed a great round of golf, playing cards, and working around the house. Bill loved to be with his family, friends, and neighbors anytime they could get together and especially loved spending time with, and following, his grandchildren. After caring for his wife Linda for many years, Bill volunteered weekly at Advent Health Lake Placid and was an active Master Mason (Dunbar, WV) and a member of the American Legion (Lake Placid). Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Linda Kay (Gast), and his brother Roy K. Fowler, Jr. He is survived by his loving children; Jeff Fowler (Melissa), Ryan Fowler (Dayspring), and Christine Cameron (Tom), seven grandchildren; Hannah, Jack, Cormac, Finn, Keen, Ella, and Cole. He is also survived by his two sisters; Joanne Glasgow and Judy Jones, and a brother; Bob Fowler (Jean), sisters-in-law Teresa Fowler, Joyce Gast, and Karen (Gast) Gilles. A celebration gathering and reflection of Bill's life will be held at a later date.
