Obituary

William J. Medler III, 73 of Miami passed away on June 19, 2011.
William (Bill) was born in Schenectady, New York and a graduate of Purdue University. Upon graduation he served 6 months active duty in the Army Reserves and then began a successful career in sales. He moved to Miami in 1967 and retired from Tech Aerfoam Products in 2003. William was preceded in death by his loving wife Phyllis Hillier, a University of Miami alumni and Eastern Airlines flight attendant. He is survived by his younger sister Patricia Phair and brother David Medler ; his three children, Victoria Walther (Ron), Janeen DenHaese (Chris) and Doug (Elaine) and five grandsons, Nicholas, Matthew, Dylan, Thomas and William. William was a devoted husband, father and friend, who made sure to enjoy life whether perfecting his golf swing, taking trips to the Keys and Everglades or grilling out with family and friends. He loved spending weekends and holidays at his lake house in Lake Placid, Florida and he was a devoted fan of the Miami Dolphins, the Canes and supported the WCS Warriors. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 22nd from 6-9 pm with a service beginning at 7 pm at Stanfill Funeral Home. A service celebrating William's life will at 1 PM Friday June 24, with Father Michael Cannon celebrating, gathering for family and friends will be one hour prior to services, at the Scott Funeral Home 504 W. Interlake Blvd. Lake Placid . Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Words of comfort to the family can be made by visiting www.scottfuneralservices.com.
