William "Billy" Koornneef , 60, of Lake Placid went home to be with his Lord on Monday, September 5, 2022 at his residence. Billy was born on August 16, 1962 in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada and was the son of Maria (Van Geest) and Jacob Koornneef . He has been a long time resident of Lake Placid. Billy worked in the family business. He was an active member of AA where he sponsor ed many people. He was very proud of his 16 years of sobriety. Billy was of the Christian faith. He loved to help those in need at their lowest time in life. Billy is proceeded in death by his paren ts, his brother; Edward Koornnee f and sister in law; Pamela Koornneef . He is survived by his loving sister; Marian Gilde (Randy) and many nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Billy's life will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 8, 2022 at the First Presbyterian Church Lake Placid 118 N. Oak Avenue Lake Placid with Pastor Ray Cameron officiating.
