William Robert Crider "Bob", 82, of Lake Placid went to be with his Lord on Wednesday morning December 4, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his family. Mr. Crider was born on November 10, 1931 in Atlantic City, NJ to parents Danie (Speer) and Roy E. Crider. Bob moved to Lake Placid from Miami in 1988 after retiring at the age of 55 from Southern Bell with 30 years of service. Mr. Crider was an avid Miami Dolphins Fan who enjoyed playing horseshoes, tennis and a good card game and loved spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Crider was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the Community Church of God in Lake Placid. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Carolyn; daughters, Cynthia Ann Vega-Georgiadis and Linda Belva Gonzalez; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer, Randal and Austin Gonzalez, Taylor and Dylan Vega, a sister, Elizabeth Linehan and several nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Bob's life will be held 12:00 Noon this Saturday December 7, 2013 at the Community Church of God 735 South Sun "N Lakes Blvd., Lake Placid with Pastor Joseph DeHart officiating. The family suggest donations be made in Bob's memory to the Community Church of God or your favorite charity.
