William C. Wiederstein, 58, of Lake Placid went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the Florida Hospital Heartland in Sebring. He was the son of Edith Schmidt and Don Wiederstein who was born on September 30, 1957 in Pittsburgh, PA. William served 19 years in the US Army with honors. William dedicated his life to healing others in the medical field, including jobs such as LPN, Laser Safety Officer, Research Coordinator and Surgical Technologist.

He and his wife moved here from Pittsburgh 71/2 years ago and he went to work at the Florida Hospital Heartland. William was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan who enjoyed seeing his Steelers play. William was a nature lover; he enjoyed repelling, white water rafting, spelunking and all outdoor activities. He was an active member of the Lutheran faith, volunteering as a Sunday school teacher, treasurer and deacon in his church.

William is preceded in death by his sister, Mary. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Connie; son, Mark; granddaughter, Aryana; sisters, Joann and Cheryl; brothers Donny, Mike, Wayne, Kenny and many nieces and nephews. He had many great loving friends. A service to celebrate William's life will be held at a later date
