Virginia Baskin Hiller, 93, of Lake Placid went to be with her Lord on Thursday evening October 7, 2010 at the Lake Placid Health Care Center. Virginia was born in Miami, the daughter of Alonzo and Corine Rodriquez Baskin. She graduated from Miami Edison High School. She retired from the Dade County School Board's purchasing department and moved to Lake Placid in 1975. She was predeceased by her husband Paul W. Hiller, son; Walter Paul Hiller and step daughter Kathleen Hiller Hamilton. Mrs. Hiller is survived by her brother; Laudric Baskin of Yuma, AZ, her son Richard (Carol) Ward of Lakeland and daughter Barbara (Arnie) Darsey of Lawrenceville, GA, daughter in law Connie Hiller, eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren several step grandchildren and great grandchildren along with nieces and nephews. A memorial service celebrating Mrs. Hiller's life will be held 1:00 PM Sunday October 10, 2010 at the Scott Funeral Home in Lake Placid with family and friends celebrating. Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Alzheimer Research.
