Vernell C. Smith, also known as "Sis" 81, of Titusville, FL formerly of Lake Placid went to be with her Lord after a long illness on Monday evening May 5, 2014 surrounded by her family at her daughter's residence. Mrs. Smith was a native of Highlands County born on January 27, 1933 in Venus to parentsEdna Prescott (Tomlinson) and Jack H. Prescott. She and her late husband Carson moved back to Lake Placid in 1989 from Naples. Mrs. Smith, a homemaker was a long time member of the Church of God. Mrs. Smith enjoyed gardening and spending time with her beloved family and friends. Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her husband Carson Sr. and son Carson Milton Smith Jr. She is survived by her loving daughters, Monica Jo-Nell Waddell (Glen) and Regina D. Kelly (Huburt); 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 AM till 11:30 AM this Saturday May 10, 2014 at the Scott Funeral Home 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid with services to follow at 11:30AM..
