Verna Marty, 91, of Clearwater, Florida, passed on to eternal life on Monday
Morning, October 19, 2015.
She was born on February 1, 1924, in Middleton, Wisconsin, to Herman and
Amelia Thomas. On May 26, 1945, she married Marine Sgt Harold Marty, where
they resided in Madison, Wisconsin with their three daughters until 1970. Harold
and Verna re-located to Daytona Beach, Florida, where they resided until 2010,
when Harold passed away. Shortly after Harold's passing, Verna moved to Clearwater
to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law.

During her life; she raised three daughters, took great care of her husband, worked
as an Occupational Therapy assistant at a children's treatment center, managed a
Government operated Day Care, was a children's librarian for 10 yrs, and stocked
and sold gifts at the Daytona Speedway - meeting and enjoying individuals from
around the world.

Verna is preceded in death by her husband, Harold (after 65yrs of marriage); her mother
and father; 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Her memory will be carried on and cherished by:
Her sister, Francesca Conners (Jacksonville, FL).
Her daughter, Holly Brazee (Marietta, GA), and Holly's son, Erin Patrick, and his wife, Kristen
and 3 great-grandchildren- Lily, Logan and Robby (Sarasota, FL).
Her daughter, Dixie Francy and her husband, John Francy, and 2 grandchildren (Clearwater, FL).
Her daughter, Peggy Merkle and her husband Mark Merkle (Marietta, GA), and 2 grandchildren,
Maxwell (Portland, OR) and Mallory (Atlanta, GA).

Verna's family and her strong Catholic faith were her life!

She wanted us to go on, taking care of our families and living a good and compassionate life.
She was looking forward to once again reunite with those that had gone before.
