Velda Clarice Walker, 59, of Lake Placid went to be with the Lord on Saturday morning February 22, 2014, at her residence surrounded by her family. Mrs. Walker was born in Sebring, a native of Lake Placid, FL born on September 21, 1954 to parents Irene (McKinnie) and Lewis Pollard, Jr. A graduate of Lake Placid Senior High Class of 1972, Velda has lived in Lake Placid and Arcadia where she was an office manager for a law firm. Velda loved spending time with both her family and friends who loved her. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ft. Ogden, Fl. Mrs. Walker is survived by her loving sons, Ryan Walker (Wendy) and Robby Walker (Sara); 7 grandchildren; father, Lewis Pollard, Jr.; and a brother Vaden Lewis Pollard. The family will receive friends 5PM to 7 PM Monday (Today) February 24, 2014 at the First Assembly of God Lake Placid 327 Plumosa Street Lake Placid where she was a past member. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held 10AM Tuesday February 25, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Ft. Ogden 9500 SW Hull Avenue Ft. Ogden, FL with Pastor Wayne Earnest officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Placid. The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations in Mrs. Walker's memory to the First Baptist Church of Ft. Ogden Building Fund.
