Troy Wade White Sr., 73, of Lake Placid went home to be with his Lord on Thursday morning, May 30, 2024, at the Advent Health Hospital in Sebring.  Troy was born on August 5, 1950, in Brookhaven, Mississippi and was the son of Myrtle (Rushing) and Chester White.  Troy has been a resident of Lake Placid since 1972, moving here from Mississippi.  Once here he went to work with the Highlands County School system where he taught history, economics, and government at Lake Placid High School.  He retired after 37 years of service and then went to work teaching at Lake Placid Christian School and Lakeview Christian School for another ten years.  Troy took his passion for helping others in need and formed Homeless and Orphan Outreach Inc, a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization which serves the youth both in the Dominican Republic and Russia.  With his never-knew-a-stranger attitude, he enjoyed serving those in need and being active in the outreach programs.  He loved his Lord and Savior, being with family and friends anytime they could get together, especially time with his grandchildren.  Troy is survived by the love of his life of 52 years Kathy (Morris); daughter Heather White Beato (Virgilio); son Troy "Wade" White Jr. (Jill); two grandchildren, Micah and Raquel; two sisters, Carolyn Barnes and Mary Dalton Johnston; and a brother, Chester "Wayne" White.  Burial will be private for the family. A service to celebrate Troy's life will be held July 27 at the Lakeview Christian Church in Lake Placid.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Homeless and Orphan Outreach, Inc (HOOI), PO Box 1370, Lake Placid, FL 33862.
