IN LOVING MEMORY OF

Zentner
December 30, 1946 – March 1, 2021
Thomas Rudolph Zentner, Staff Sgt., USAF, Retired, Born 12/30/1946 in Auburn, NY and went home to our Lord March 1, 2021. Predeceased by parents, Rudolph and Gladys (Cornelius) Zentner. Survived by brother, Francis A. (Justine) Zentner of PA; sister, Sharon (Michael) Weber of Wisconsin; nephews, Jeffrey (Jody) Bunnell, Corey Zentner of PA, Stephen (Jessica) Weber and Andrew Weber; nieces, Jessica Webber and Carrie McKinnon of WI; great nieces and nephews, Alyssa Bunnell, Connor Bunnell of PA, Benjamin Weber, Jameson and Everett McKinnon of Wisconsin; many loving cousins and friends in NYS and Lake Placid, FL. Thomas grew up in Cayuga, NY nestled in the Finger Lakes of NYS along the Cayuga Lake. He graduated from Union Springs HS in 1964 and attended Harper College for 3 years, but he felt the call to duty at the height of the VietNam War and enlisted in the USAF in 1967. During many sustained aerial flights over 1969-1970 in Southeast Asia with the 6990 Security squadron he received the Air Medal of honor with 1,2,3 Oak Leaf Clusters. He was stationed around the world because of his excellent language ability. He attended the Defense Language Institute in CA and graduated with merit in Arabic-Egyptian and Chinese languages. Thomas retired from the Air Force in 1977 after a significant hip injury. He loved his family, his country, his church and his many, many friends and he loved to sing. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lake Placid, FL and participated in the choir and Men's Quartet. He was a long standing member of The Harmony Foundation International in Nashville, TN. When younger, he attended many national and international sing-a-thons where he mentored others and was joyfully given the title of "Ambassador of Song''. One of Thomas's favorite passages is Psalms 104:33, "I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live". He did just that and brought joy to all the lives he touched both near and far. Thank you for your life Thom, you made a difference and we will sorely miss you.
