Thomas Arthur Naylor, 89, of Lake Placid went to be with his Lord on Tuesday morning April 21, 2015 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring. Thomas was the son of Leona (Rising) and Arthur Naylor who was born on March 31, 1926 in Warren, OH. Mr. Naylor at the age of 17 enlisted in the US Navy to serve his country during WWII with honors. After his discharge from the service Mr. Naylor worked for several companies including Excide Batteries where he retired as a maintenance person. Thomas was a winter resident for several years before becoming a permanent resident here in Lake Placid from Middlefield, OH. Thomas was a true NASCAR fan who enjoyed watching his favorite driver Jeff Gordon race at the many tracks. An avid Ohio State fan, Thomas cheered his team when they played football and basketball. Mr. Naylor loved to spend time with both his family and friends. Mr. Naylor was a Methodist by faith. Mr. Naylor is survived by his loving wife of 24 years Elaine; daughter, Colleen Naylor; sons, Ryan and Kevin Naylor; step-daughters, Kerri Pfrenger, Kelli Kothera, Kristi Selby; 5 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 1 step- great-granddaughter and a brother Richard Naylor. A service to celebrate Thomas life will be held at a later date in Ohio.
