Ted Lee Carter Sr., 81, of Lake Placid, FL, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, February 9, 2018, at his residence. Ted was the son of Clyda Mae (Wilkins) and Winifred Carter and was born on September 18, 1936, in Harnett County, North Carolina. A forty-year employee, Ted retired from Sears, where he worked in the appliance department as a salesman. He had been a resident of Lake Placid for the past seven years moving here from Fayetteville, NC. Ted was of the Baptist faith. Ted enjoyed riding his motorcycle and loved to be with his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife Yvonne, daughters: Pamela (Stephen) Winstead and Prudence (Michael) Kitzmiller; sons: Ted Jr. (Rebecca), Michael (Stephanie), and Jeffrey; seven grandchildren: Christopher (Jennifer) Carter, Rachel (TJ) Cannon, Nichole Alvarez, Devon Wilson, Olivia Carter, Kassidy Kitzmiller, and Jordan Kitzmiller and three great grandchildren. In keeping with his wishes, services will be private for the family.
