Obituary

Suzanne Marlos Sauls, 86, of Lake Placid passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 16, 2020 at the Advent Health Hospital in Sebring with her family by her side.  Suzanne was born on May 5, 1934 in Crookston, MN to parents Nora (Steen) and Alphie N. Hance. She grew up in South Florida. She graduated from Coral Gables High and the University of Miami. Suzanne married Herb in 1956. Initially a weekend resident of Lake Placid moving here full time after she retired from teaching. She had a wonderful sense of humor and always loved to laugh. Suzanne enjoyed travel, water sports, photography, games, nature, college football and music. But mostly she enjoyed sharing her lake home over the years with family and friends. She was a member of the Audubon Society and a volunteer citizen scientist for UF Lake Watch and the Lake Placid Country Fair. Suzanne was an active member of the St. James Catholic Church in Lake Placid. Mrs. Sauls is preceded in death by her loving husband Herbert. She is survived by her 3 children; Mona Sauls Vetter, Herbert Louis Sauls Jr, and Edmund Michael Sauls. She was Grandma to 6 grandchildren; Ashley Suzanne Hall & Nicole Vetter, Christopher & Nicholas Sauls, Daniel & Steven Sauls and Gigi to her great-grandchildren; Dalia and Reed Sauls and Melody Vetter.
A Funeral Mass to celebrate Suzanne's life will be held 11:30AM, Saturday, August 22, 2020 at the St. James Catholic Church 3380 Placid View Drive, Lake Placid with Father Vincent Clemente officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her favorite charities.
