Stephen John Shin, 91, of Lake Placid went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the Advent Health Lake Placid Hospital.  Stephen was born on May 23, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY and was the son of Julia (Dyka) and Frank Shin.  Stephen has been a resident of Lake Placid since 2007 moving here from Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  Stephen served his country with honors in the United State Marine Corps during the Korean War.  He then went to work with Pan American Airlines as a mechanic where he retired after many years of service.   Stephen was a member of the St. James Catholic Church here in Lake Placid.  He enjoyed keeping with the current events of the country and around the world listening to the Fox News Network.  Stephen loved to be with his family and friends anytime they could get together, especially time with his grandchildren.  Stephen is survived by the love of his life of 53 years Judith, sons: Frank, Robert and Stephen, and four grandchildren.  A graveside service to celebrate Stephen's life will be held 10:30 AM, Thursday, December 23, 2021 at the Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Fl. with military honors to be provided by the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard
