Shirley Chase Dowling - age 68; went home to rejoice with her Savior on April 24, 2015. She passed peacefully at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring, FL.

Shirley was born on January 21, 1947 to Jay Chase & Frances Smoak Chase in Lakeland, FL. In 1965, she graduated from Minot High School in Minot, ND and moved to Montgomery, Alabama to attend Huntington College until she graduated in 1968 with a Bachelors in Education. It was there that she met Montie Dowling, her loving husband of 48 years. Shirley was a master encourager, who dedicated her life to serving others.

She is survived by her husband and their two daughters, Angela Dowling Towler & Francee Dowling Williams, their sons-in-law, Greg Towler & Travis Williams & their seven grandchildren, Allison, Caleb, Kimberly and Joshua Towler & Gabriella (Ella), Katherine (Kate), and Madison Williams.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church of Lake Placid, 117 N Oak Avenue with Rev. Ray Cameron & Rev. Drew Severance officiating. Reception to follow the ceremony. Memorial contributions may be sent to the church for The Genesis Center Building Project.
