Shaun Marie Orlos-Cortes, age 48, passed away peacefully at her Lake Placid, Florida home on Tuesday, July 25th. Shaun was born April 17, 1975 in Dearborn, Michigan. The family moved to Florida in 1981 for business opportunities. After high school graduation, she moved to Key Largo, Florida to learn the family business. She helped her dad to grow the Taco Bell Franchise group, Orlos & Company, to 10 stores. Shaun was a mentor to many employees, and remains lifelong friends to this day. She ultimately retired in 2013 as the Director of Operations. Shaun was a huge supporter of the Miracle League of Highlands County, and volunteered as a coach. She spent every Saturday on the Field making children feel wonderful about playing baseball. Her friends remember her most as a kind soul, with a warm heart. She is preceded in death by her father, Dennis Orlos, grandparents, Edward & Genevieve Orlos, and Alex & Rose Marie Lukos. She is survived by her mother, Debbie Roberts (Tom), sister, Jeni Ginjauma, step sister, Jennifer Roberts, and step brother, Tom Roberts (Kara), and her husband Erguin Cortes. Her children are Nicolas Orlos (Jenniffer), Dillon Fogle (Davia), Brendon Carrion, Harmony Orlos, and nephew Adriel Ginjauma. Her grandchildren Alex, Thomas, Kamilynn, and Khalia. Services will be held on Thursday, August 3rd, at 11am, at the Scott Seawinds Funeral home, located at 504 W. Interlake Blvd, Lake Placid, Florida 33852.
