Ruth Agnes Blass, 85, of Lake Placid passed away early Sunday morning November 11, 2012 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring. She was born on October 11, 1927 in Westfield, Massachusetts to parents Lottie V. (Rose) and Archie William Gainley. Mrs. Blass moved to Lake Placid in 1991 from Connecticut and was a life member of the Lake Placid VFW Post 3880 Women's Auxiliary. Ruth was the last survivor of a very large family and was preceded in death by her loving husband Carl and is survived by loving daughter, Debbie James; sons, Richard (Carol), Ronald, Ernie (Jean), Steven (Isabel) and Mark (Carol) VanCedarfield, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Services for Ruth to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.
