Russell Charles Hyatt, 90, of Lake Placid went to be with his Lord Wednesday evening December 26, 2012 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House. He was born on June 7, 1922 in Jefferson County, IN to parents Estella Mae (Hand) and Charles Taylor Hyatt. Mr. Hyatt proudly served his country in the US Air Force during WWII. He moved to Lake Placid 33 years ago from Madison, IN where he was an automotive and marine mechanic. Mr. Hyatt enjoyed camping and had a passion for working on antique cars restoring some to there original condition. Mr. Hyatt loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren, great grandchildren and his great-great grandchildren. He was a member of the AFA Air Force Association, the Lake Placid VFW Post 3880, and attended the Memorial United Methodist Church in Lake Placid. Mr. Hyatt is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Ruth Ann; daughter, Sue Ann Flanders (Jerry); son, John Wayne Hyatt (Pam); 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. A service to celebrate Mr. Hyatt's life will be held 11:00 AM Monday December 31, 2012 at the Memorial United Methodist Church 500 Kent Avenue, Lake Placid with Rev. Jerry R. McCauley officiating.
