Roy A. Schaffer, 66, of Lake Placid went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at his residence. Roy was born on July 7, 1959, in Chillicothe, Ohio and he was the son of Phyllis (Sommers) and Elmer Schaffer. Roy is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Donna, daughter; Dannielle (Joseph Rooker) Schaffer, son; Trenton (Courtney) Schaffer, four grandchildren Alex, Jacob, Xavier, Aidreann and two sisters; Debbie (Ken) Vaughn and Sharon (Jeff) Hartmus. Roy has been a resident of Lake Placid for the past three years, moving here from Ohio. He served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps. After serving his country, Roy went to work in the manufacturing of paper, where he retired as a chemical coater operator from Pixell in 2022. He enjoyed the peace and quiet of retirement life and watching the local wildlife in the area. He loved to be with his family and friends whenever they could get together, especially time with his grandchildren. In keeping with Roy's wishes, the family will celebrate his life in private.
