Ronald Edmund Parker, 83, of Lake Placid went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, June 14, 2021 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring surrounded by his loving family. Ron was born on June 27, 1937 in Roseboro, North Carolina and was the son of Eva (Bedsole) and Edmund Parker. He served his country with honors in the Florida National Guard. He has been a resident of Lake Placid since 2001, moving here from Pembroke Pines, Fl. Ron was a retired supervisor in the telephone communications industry, where he worked for many years and saw many changes. He was an active member at the South Oaks Baptist Church and served as a deacon, in Lake Placid. Ron enjoyed a good round of golf, fishing, deep sea diving, hiking, and he lived to help others. Ron was a father figure to many as he loved serving the youth and always set a Godly example. He enjoyed being with his family and friends anytime they could get together, especially time with his grand and great-grandchildren. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Gayle, daughters; Terri Shambo (Jim), Kelly Hancock (Barry), four grandchildren (Tyler, Courtney, Cameron, Peyton) two great –grandchildren (Hartley, Ryan) and brothers Norman and Stuart Nelson Parker. A service to celebrate Ron's life will be held at South Oak Baptist Church in Lake Placid August 7th, 2021 at 11:00 AM.
