March 18, 1941 – April 25, 2024
Ron H. Davis, 83, of Lexington, South Carolina, passed away on April 25, 2024 after fighting Acute Myeloid Leukemia for two years. Ron was born March 18, 1941 to Harold Raymond Davis and Mildred Mae Reeder Davis in Poughkeepsie, New York.
Ron entered the United States Army in 1958 as a truck driver in the Korean War. After his service to our country, Ron met Carol Braun in Baltimore, Maryland and they married on October 1, 1960. Ron and Carol (d. 2015) went on to have three children: Diana Lynne (Leigh Hawkins), Elyse Ann (Carol Murray), and Melissa Mae whose children (Scott, Ryan, and Joshua) taught them the joys of grandparenting.
Ron and Carol owned a restaurant in Poultney, Vermont before Ron began a successful career in sales and management in the millwork business. After retiring in 2000, Ron and Carol bought an RV and traveled the United States with the goal to see every state capital. Their home became Tomoka Heights in Lake Placid, Florida.
After Carol's death in 2015, Ron met the second love of his life, Lorraine Garner. Ron's faith grew as he joined the Catholic church and Lorraine and Ron were married September 24, 2016. Lorraine's sons: Andrew (Hyejung), Thomas (Darla), Steven (Brittany), and Timothy (Hanna) Kottlowski became part of Ron's family.
Ron is predeceased by his parents, and his siblings Robert and Bette Boyce. He is survived by his brothers Richard and Raymond Davis, his wife Lorraine, all of his children, fourteen grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Ron loved his family, golfing, traveling, and enjoying 5 o'clock Happy Hour with his friends.
Services will be held at Saint James Catholic Church in Lake Placid, Florida on Tuesday, April 30 at 11:00am. A luncheon will follow in the Fellowship Hall. The burial will be on May 1 at 2:00pm at Sarasota National Cemetery.
