Obituary

Robin C. Guidry January 7, 1957 – May 30, 2026 Robin C. Guidry, a devoted father and cherished “Papa,” passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026, at the age of 69, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Charleston on January 7, 1957, to Earl Sr. and June Guidry, Robin moved to Florida as a youth and spent most of his life in DeSoto County, the community he loved deeply. A gifted athlete, he proudly played football and baseball for DeSoto County High School. Robin’s outgoing personality, booming laugh, and infectious smile made him a friend to everyone he met. He built a successful career in automobile sales and truly never met a stranger. He loved life and shared that joy generously with others. A proud born-again Christian, Robin lived with grace and resilience. In February 2026, he celebrated 20 years of recovery, a testament to his strength and unwavering faith. Above all else, Robin’s greatest joy was his family. He was a dedicated father and the ultimate “Papa.” He treasured every moment spent with his daughters and beloved grandson, Jackson, whether racing Hot Wheels, riding 4-wheelers, building projects, or fishing together. Robin was welcomed into heaven by his parents, Earl J. Guidry Sr. and June E. Guidry, and his sister, Mary June Marco-Florin. He is survived by his loving daughters, Tara Dennis (Anthony) and Morgan Guidry (Nicholas); his cherished grandson, Jackson; his brothers, Earl Guidry Jr. (Trisha), E. “Tony” Guidry (Karen), and Tom Guidry; his sister, Layne Prescott (Mike); and countless extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Rivers Edge Club in Arcadia, Florida. In honor of Robin’s lifelong love for the Florida Gators, the family asks attendees to wear orange and blue in celebration of his vibrant spirit.
