Roberta Ransom, 78, of Lake Placid went to be with her Lord on Wednesday October 17, 2012 at the Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring surrounded by her family. She was born on October 30, 1933 in Pawtucket, RI to parents Mabel (Pigeon) and Frederick Berndt. She moved to Lake Placid 24 years ago from Hollywood, FL. Mrs. Ransom was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Lake Placid. Mrs. Ransom enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, trips to Brighton and loved spending time with her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her first husband of 30 years Edward Baldwin and her second husband of 7 years James Ransom. She is survived by her loving sons; Charles Baldwin, Edward Baldwin, Robert Baldwin and daughter Diane Grogis, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, a sister; Audrey Warren and her brother Arnold Berndt. A service to celebrate Roberta's life will be 1:00 PM this Saturday October 27, 2012 at the Bethel Baptist 216 East Park Street, Lake Placid with Dr. John Hankins, Pastor, celebrating.
