Robert L. Shira, 87, of Lake Placid went to be with his Lord on Saturday afternoon May 10, 2014 at the Lake Placid Health Care Center. Mr. Shira was born on January 26, 1927 in Texas to parents Joy and Lee Roy Shira. Robert moved to Lake Placid in the 1940"s from Eustis, FL and was a graduate of the Lake Placid High School. Mr. Shira served his country in the US Navy. A retired automotive mechanic, Mr. Shira enjoyed taking engines apart and repairing them and loved spending time with his family and friends. Robert was a member of the Church of Christ. He is survived by his loving son Cab (Tina); a grandson and twin sister, Roberta Kramer. A private service for the family to celebrate Robert's life was held
