Obituary

Robert Thomas Govelitz, 82, of Lake Placid went to be with is Lord Friday night July 2, 2010 at the Tampa General Hospital. He was born on December 22, 1927 in Port Reading, NJ to parents John and Mary (Barna) Govelitz. He served his country in the US Navy during both WWII and Korea. He and his wife moved to Lake Placid in 2004 from New Jersey after retiring with the New Jersey State Police as an Alcohol Beverage Agent. Mr. Govelitz was a member of the VFW Post 3880, Lake Placid Lions Club, Friends of the Library Lake Placid and St. James Catholic Church where he enjoyed signing in the church choir. Mr. Govelitz is survived by his loving wife of 59 years; Susane, daughters; Susan Marino (Nicholas), Gail Ewanyk (James), Lori Parsons (John) and Carrie Cisek (Chester), son; Tom Govelitz (Diane), grandchildren; Alexis and Nicole Marino, Brian Ewanyk and Jeanette Beck (Brian), Alison, Robert, Trevor and Chloe Govelitz, Steven and Scott Kesselman, Benjamin, Rachel and Kyle Parsons, Julian and Jack Cisek, great grandchildren; Collin and Charlie Beck, sisters; Eleanor Gallagher, Mary Vozar and Veronica Nacchio. There will be an inurnment service to be held in mid-August at the Bath Nation Cemetery in Bath, NY. A service celebrating Mr. Govelitz's life will be held here in October at the Florida Campgrounds Club House
