Rita M. White, 89, of Lake Placid passed away Friday morning March 19, 2010 at the Lake Placid Health Care Center. She was born in Boston, Mass. on August 19, 1920 to parents Marion C. (Wilson) and Francis O'Day. A winter resident of Lake Placid since 1975 and full time resident since 1999 coming from Chatham, MA. She was a retired hospital administrator and a member of the St. James Catholic Church in Lake Placid. She became an avid golfer after moving to Florida and injoyed reading, knitting and gardening as well. Mrs. White is preceded in death by her husband James H. White and is survived by her loving children, Elizabeth Jevne of Norwell, MA. John F. White of Pinckney, MA and Peter A. White of Upton, MA, 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, and a brother; Paul F. Day. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Rita's life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday May 22, 2010 (Today) at the St. James Catholic Church 3380 Placid View Drive Lake Placid, FL with Father Michael Cannon celebrating. Inurnment will follow in the St. James Memorial Gardens
