Richard "Critter" Rouse, 81, of Lake Placid, FL., went home to be with his Lord on Friday morning, August 15, 2025, at his residence.  Richard was born on February 11, 1944, in Taylorsport, Kentucky.  He was the son of Frances (Beacom) and Robert Rouse.  He has been a resident of the Lake Placid area for the past 35 years moving here from Georgia.  Richard served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam.  After serving his country Richard went to work as a truck driver in the transportation industry.  He was of the Christian faith and a member of the American Legion Placid Post 25 here in Lake Placid.  Richard enjoyed riding his Harley Davison motorcycle and going to classic car shows.  He loved to be with his family and friends whenever they could get together.  Richard is preceded in death by his parents, and sister; Myra Lowman and he is survived by his loving wife of twenty-five years, Kathy Polovick Rouse, daughters; Amy Hollis (Tracy), Charlene Cooper (Chuck), Chris Abbey Harhai (Paul), grandchildren; Taylor, Ashley and Lexie Hollis, Cayla, Cadie and Clayton Cooper, Dustin Harhai, niece; Susan Odonnell and family, nephew; Scott Lowman and family and brother in law John Lowman. A service to celebrate Critter's life will be held 12 Noon, Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the American Legion Placid Post 25, 1490 US 27 N. Lake Placid.
