Rachel Sciortino, age 49, of Lake Placid, FL, gained her wings on February 8, 2025. Her sudden departure has left a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Born in Milwaukee, WI, Rachel was the cherished daughter of Barbara Ann Sciortino (Novitzke) and Michael James Sciortino. She was survived by her brother Michael, and her two half-sisters Toni and Tina Sciortino. She was the devoted partner of Paul James Cheeseman for ten years, and a loving mother to Samantha Marie Proegler and Alexis Ann Proegler. She was also a caring stepmother to Ayden, Dylan, and Tyler Cheeseman.

Rachel possessed a rare gift for nurturing and brightening the lives of those around her. Her warm spirit and genuine love made everyone feel special and valued. Rachel created a beautiful and loving home, a testament to her dedication and creativity. Her love extended to her animal companions, particularly her beloved ducks and dogs, who held a special place in her heart.

A celebration of Rachel's life will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Oakview Church, located at 677 SW 32nd St, Okeechobee, FL 34974. A viewing will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM with a meal to follow.
