Prince E. Gibson
Prince E. Gibson, 94, of Lake Placid went home to be with his Lord on Friday, November 2, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Prince was the son of Marie (Cotten) and Urbert P Gibson who was born on May 17, 1924 in Petersburg, Virginia. Prince served his country with honors in the US Army during WWII. Prince was a retired construction superintendent. He built his families home in Virginia, and when he moved to Lake Placid in 1981 he build his new home. Prince was active in his community volunteering with the Leisure Lakes Volunteer Fire Depart, a member of the American Legion and the First Baptist Church of Lake Placid. Prince was an avid scuba cave diver who enjoyed diving with his son, fishing the local lakes and spending time out on the water. He loved to be with his family and friends anytime they could get together especially his grand and great grandchildren. Prince is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Mildred, daughter; Sandra Gibson, son; Dale Gibson, 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren. A service to celebrate Prince's life will be held 12:30 PM, Friday November 30, 2018 with military honors at the Sarasota National VA Cemetery.
