Obituary

Patsy G. D'Amato, 97, of Sebring Florida (formerly from Middletown, CT) passed on Monday, December 07, 2020 after a brief illness. Born in Flushing, Ohio he is the son of the late Gaetano and Rosina (Ruccuitti) D'Amato. He is survived by his significant other Eve Hoffer whom he adored; his 3 children: Butch D'Amato (Jean),  Jerry D'Amato(Lori) and Debi Thompson all in Connecticut; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sisters Mary Mazzulli, Anna Abramo, Angela D'Amato and Lucille O'Connor, and brothers Louis, Nicholas, Anthony and Albert D'Amato; his son in law Gary Thompson and great grandson Kyle Johnson. He was a graduate of Middletown High School in Middletown, CT.  A veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army. He retired from Standard Knapp in Portland, CT after 42 years and from the Middletown Police Department after 25 years as a part time supernumerary police officer also in CT. He was a member of St. James Church in Lake Placid and when living in CT a member of St. Sebastian Church in Middletown. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed square dancing, playing cards and bunco. He was lucky to live a wonderful,  fulfilled life especially with Eve. His kindness and gentle ways will be greatly missed by all whose life he touched.
