Patsy Kay Calkins, 71, of Lake Placid, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday June 12, 2013 at her residence. She was born on July 24, 1941 in Pratt, Kansas to parents Sibyl (Brown) and Lawrence Rosenbaum. She moved to Lake Placid 10 years ago from Kansas. Patsy was a retired mixologist in the food and beverage industry. As a young woman, Patsy was a hair model with Clairol. An avid Kansas City Chiefs fan, she enjoyed gardening, traveling and drag racing. She was a member of the Lake Placid VFW Post 3880 Ladies Auxiliary and was of the Methodist faith. Mrs. Calkins is preceded in death by her loving husband Gaylord "Swede" Calkins and is survived by her children, Kimberly Calkins and Craig Wannow; granddaughter Darrian Nicole Wannow and great granddaughter; Autumn Faylinn Reid.
