On Sunday night, August 20, 2023, Patricia A. Soares, 78, of Lake Placid, shed her earthy battle with cancer and made a peaceful exit, at her residence surrounded by her loving family She was born on January 30, 1945 in Fall River, Massachusetts and was the daughter of late Georgina (Medeiros) and Maximino Aguiar. Patricia has been a resident of Lake Placid since 2014, moving here from Massachusetts. She enjoyed music, dancing, cooking, traveling the country, oil painting and attending social events. She loved to be with her family and friends anytime they could get together, especially time with her grand and great-grandchildren. Patricia is survived by the love of her life of 52 years John, son; Kevin Soares, daughter in-law; Jo-Ann Soares, grandchildren; Ryan Soares, Kyle Soares, Alyssia Clifford, great-grandchildren; Mason Clifford, Nolan Clifford. Her extended family brother; Brian Pearson, deceased brother Robert Aguiar. A service to celebrate Patricia's life will be held 11:00 AM Friday, September 1, 2023 at the Scott Funeral Home 504 W. Interlake Blvd. with Father Vincent Clemente  officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service times. Burial will follow at 2 PM at the Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations in Patricia's memory to the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa.
