Obituary

Pamela Sue Koornneef, 63, of Lake Placid, FL went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 in Durham, NC. Pamela was born on October 8, 1957 in Lake Worth, FL. She was the daughter of Al Homan and Lois Parker. Pamela has been a long time resident of Lake Placid, moving here from Boynton Beach, FL with her late husband Ed, to support his lifetime of work in the family business. Pamela enjoyed life to the fullest, she treasured being around family and friends, learning new recipes, singing, playing the piano, shopping sprees, and even her husband's favorite pastime camping with family. Pamela was preceded in death by her loving mother Lois Parker and the love of her life of 40 years, Edward William Koornneef. She is survived by her loving children; her daughters: Maria Quiñones and her husband Quintin, Holly Cameron and her husband Joshua, her sons: Jason Koornneef and his wife Bridget, and Jacob Koornneef along with her 15 grandchildren whom she absolutely adored. She is also survived by her father, Al Homan and his wife Pat, her stepfather Frank Parker, her sister, Sheryl Gills and her husband Keith, her brother, Larry Homan and his wife Tess and many extended family members. A gathering for family and friends to reflect on Pamela's life will be held from 12 Noon to 1:00PM Tuesday, January 5, 2021 with a service to celebrate her life to follow at 1:00PM at the First Presbyterian Church Lake Placid with Rev. Ray Cameron officiating. Pamela will be laid to rest next to her husband Edward Koornneef at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Placid.
