Nellie M. Lanier, 81, of Lake Placid went to be with her Lord on Tuesday morning August 5, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A native of Frostproof, FL she was born on February 28, 1933 to parents Jessie J. (Duncan) and Thurman Douglas. She moved to Lake Placid in 1963 and retired from the Consolidated Tomoka as a packer. Mrs. Lanier enjoyed being in the outdoors hunting and fishing and loved spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Lanier was a member of the Venus Baptist Church. Mrs. Lanier is survived by her loving son Jack D. Turner; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A funeral service to celebrate Mrs. Lanier's life will be held 12 Noon, Friday August 8, 2014 (today) with a visitation one hour prior to service time at the Scott Funeral Home 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid, FL with Pastor Troyleen Hodges officiating.
