Mrs. Mona Rowena Fletcher, 95, of Lake Placid went to be with the Lord on Monday November 29th, 2021. Mrs. Fletcher was born on September 18, 1926, in Bloomfield, IA to parents Arlo Shook and Ora Gordy Shook . She was a faithful member of Bible Community Church, Mentor, OH and Independent Baptist Church, Sebring, FL where she loved to sing, worship and was a truly one-of-a-kind Sunday School Teacher! Everyone always smiled, felt better, and knew it was going to be alright after talking with Mrs. Fletcher (mom). Mrs. Fletcher also served her country with honor as a civilian worker for the U.S. Navy during WWII. Mrs. Fletcher moved to Lake Placid, FL 35 years ago from Mentor, OH to be with family and retire. Mrs. Fletcher was an amazing and loving mother who was always cheerful, full of joy, and loved spending time with family and friends. Mrs. Fletcher is preceded in death by her parents, Arlo Shook and Ora Gordy Shook, her husband Kenneth Fletcher, her son, Franklin, her daughter-n-law Noelle Fletcher, her sister Loraine Simmons and husband J. Rex Simmons, her sisters, Coleen Vorhis and Crystal Webb. Mrs. Fletcher is survived by her sons, Dennis Fletcher (Dianne), Martin Fletcher; foster sons, Paul Volpe (Stephanie) and Patrick Volpe (Laura); foster daughter, Patricia Volpe-Metcalfe (Clint); five grandchildren, Austin, Mia, Elena, Carina and Enzo and a brother, Richard Paul Fletcher (Carol) and sister Molly Williams and Martin Shook. Forever in our hearts. A memorial fund in the name of Ken and Rowena Fletcher is being collected by Bible Community Church for the lobby renovation fund to be named in their honor.
