Michele Margaret Bonilla, 65, of Lake Placid went to be with her Lord on Friday evening January 3, 2014 at her residence. She was born on June 18, 1948 in Norwalk, CT to parents Margaret (McGrath) and Edward John Masterson. Over the years Michele worked in the health care industry caring for the elderly. She worked at The Convent of Mary The Queen in Yonkers, NY for twenty years. She moved to Lake Placid seventeen years ago and was an employee of the Lake Placid Health Care Center where she had many beloved friends. Michele was well known for her devotion to the animal rescue, helping the neediest of animals. She would spend time nursing them back to health and finding them homes. Michele would take care of tiny raccoons to large horses and any other animal that needed her help. Michele is survived by her loving husband of 27 years Juan; wonderful stepmother Lillian Masterson; loving daughters, Donna Walker and Lisa Goulart and her devoted sister, Sandra Borders; seven grandchildren, Steven, Douglas and Brian Walker, P.J., Justin and Trevor Scapptura and Kiely Ann Craine. A service to celebrate Michele's life will be held 11:00 AM this Saturday January 11, 2014 at the Scott Funeral Home 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid with Father Michael Cannon Officiating.
