Obituary

Mary was born in Akron, Ohio on April 15, 1927.  Her parents were Ralph and Josephine Hayward, and Mary had two brothers, Ralph Jr., Ronald, and one younger sister, Marjorie.  During her school years Mary was a good student, and played the snare drum in the East High Band. While in high school, she met a young man who also played in the band, Roy Wiseman Jr.  After returning from the Army, Roy asked Mary to be his wife. They were married in June of 1948, at the home of her mother and father. After attending business school, Mary worked for a Doctor's Surgical Group.  She helped in scheduling surgeries. After her husband finished getting his degree from Akron University, Roy began working for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company as a mechanical engineer and later worked for Goodyear Aerospace in Akron.  He developed and designed airline wheels and braking systems. After a few years, they decided to begin their family. Together, they raised 3 children, Robert, Lois and John. Mary also kept busy with many sports and hobbies during those childrearing years, including bowling, golfing, and traveling.  After her children were in school, Mary also worked as a school secretary, and sold Real Estate for a while. Her greatest enjoyment came from her love of golf, which she played well. Around 1980, Roy and Mary retired to Florida. They moved to Port St Lucie, on the east coast. They lived first in a condo at Tarpon Bay Yacht Club on the St Lucie River, where they enjoyed boating, golf and tennis.  They later bought a home in St Lucie West where both Mary and Roy enjoyed playing golf at the nearby PGA Golf Course. After many years together, Roy passed away in 2005. They had been married 57 years. After that time, her daughter Lois moved to Florida from Ohio, and Bob and John always visited as often as they could to be with their loving mom. About 4 years ago, Mary sold her home and moved into Harbor Place, an independent living facility, where she found many new friends.  Her good friend Helen Evans and Karen Frampton also lived there. In 2007 Mary moved to Southern Lifestyles Senior Center in Lake Placid after a serious illness, so that her family would be able to see here more often. She made many new friends in her new home. She loved the exercise classes, especially playing ball with the group. She enjoyed watching golf on TV, and looking through picture albums to remember all the good times she enjoyed in the years past. Mary received many visits from her children in her final years, which she enjoyed so much.  Even though her memory faded, Mary always loved her children, and appreciated the help from others. Mary passed away peacefully on October 18 th of 2019 at 5:22 AM, in the care of Vitas Hospice.  Mary leaves one sister, Marjorie Hyre, of Puyallup, WA (husband David) and her brother Ronald Hayward of Port Charlotte, FL (widower, Jaswell) as well as Mary's two sons, Robert H. Wiseman, of Cincinnati, OH (wife Sandy) and John R. Wiseman of Copley, OH (wife Dorothy) and daughter, Lois J.
