Mary Ruggles, 89, of Lake Placid went home to be with her Lord on Sunday night May 6, 2018 at the Lake Placid Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the daughter of Lola and Jay Banter who was born on July 21, 1928 in Marion, Indiana. Mary had a passion for writing and took her skills and became a newspaper reporter until she retired. Mary has been a resident of Lake Placid since 1978 moving there from Indiana. Mary loved to be with her family and friends especially her grand and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, Lester Ruggles, a daughter; Peggy Nelson of Tampa, FL, and a grandson Tommy House of Anderson, IN. She is survived by her loving son; Curt of Lake Placid , FL, daughter; Cheryl House of Anderson, IN, 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, sisters; Betty Harphan (Gib), Pat Cartwright, Barbara Felts, and several nieces and nephews.
