Mary Carol
Plott
Nov 27, 1945 — Oct 7, 2026
Thursday
American Legion Placid Post 25
1:00 - 4:00 pm (Eastern time)
Mary Carol Plott, 80, of Lake Placid, Florida, went home to be with her Lord on October 7, 2026, surrounded by the love and memories of those who meant so much to her.
Born on November 27, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio, Mary Carol was preceded in death by her late husband, David Plott; her deceased parents Lenore (Testa) and Theodore Winslow. She is survived by her devoted fiancé, John Meyerhoff, who was an important part of her life. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Beverly Miavitz (Fred); her loving brother, Ted Winslow (Jen Kline); nephews Fred Jr. (Kristin Harmon), Jeff (Jen), and Rob (Brenda); niece Victoria; and great-niece and great-nephews McKenzie, Sloan, Dylan, Josh and Sammy.
She spent many years in Walton Hills, Ohio before making her home in Lake Placid, Florida, where she built a life filled with friendships, family, and the things she loved most.
Mary Carol was a successful executive at Sears in Chicago, where she worked until her retirement. But beyond her professional accomplishments, it was her zest for life, her beautiful smile, and her infectious laugh that made her truly special. She had a way of lighting up a room and bringing people together. Whether sharing a story, enjoying time with family and friends, or talking about her latest adventure, Mary Carol embraced life with enthusiasm and a spirit that will never be forgotten.
And then, of course, there were the Corvettes!
Mary Carol had a true passion for these iconic cars and proudly owned many different Corvette models over the years. She loved attending car shows, participating in Corvette rallies, and showing off whichever Corvette had captured her heart. Her love extended beyond the cars themselves to the excitement of drag racing, the thrill of the road, and the wonderful community of fellow enthusiasts who became a special part of her life. For Mary Carol, Corvettes were more than cars — they were an adventure, a shared passion, and a reason to make memories with people she loved. She enjoyed taking a national road trip from Chicago to LA on Route 66, with all fellow corvette enthusiasts who had 1960’s corvettes, making many stops and memories over 17 days. Above all, Mary Carol treasured her family and friends. She leaves behind countless memories, laughter, and stories that will continue to bring smiles to the faces of those fortunate enough to have known her. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her, including her extended Corvette family.
