Obituary

Mark Anthony Nairn, 92, of Lake Placid went to be with his Lord on Sunday afternoon June 29, 2014 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring. He was born on June 16, 1922 in Bartlesville, OK to parents Pansy (Trippett) and Henry Haywood Nairn. Mark served his country proudly in the US Navy during WWII. He moved to Lake Placid from Hialeah in 1985 after retiring from his long career as a mechanic for Eastern Airlines. Mark enjoyed square dancing, camping, swimming, sailing, shuffleboard, and fixing things and loved spending time with his family and friends. He was always looking for ways to improve the world around him, and in that pursuit was awarded US Patent 3140134 A. He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Edna; his sisters, Louise Alarie and Joy Nedeau, and his brothers Norman and George. He is survived by his loving daughter, Nancy Dunn; sons, Kenneth L, Clyde A. and Harry L.; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Grace Long and Fay Talbot. Mark and Edna were members of the Placid Temple Church of God. A service to celebrate Mark's life will be held at a later date.
