Obituary

Marjorie Gayle Parker, 85, of Lake Placid went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 23, 2024.  She spent her last days at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends.  Gayle was a native Floridan who was born in Dunedin on November 21, 1939.  She was the daughter of Francis (Ruff) and Irvin Clifton Goff.  Gayle has been a resident of Lake Placid since 2002, moving here from Pembroke Pines, Fl.  She was an assistant activities coordinator at the Lake Placid Health and Rehabilitation Center. Gayle was also an active member of the South Oak First Baptist Church of Lake Placid where she could be found cooking meals for the Wednesday night church service or cooking breakfast for the Sunday church service.  She enjoyed volunteering at the health care center, quilting, dancing, attending her Bible study, and creating baby blankets for numerous babies.  Gayle is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ron of 62 years.  Together Ron and Gayle were second parents to many and positively impacted many lives over the years.  Gayle is also survived by her loving daughters; Terri Shambo (husband Jim), Kelly Hancock (husband Barry), four grandchildren; Tyler Shambo, Courtney Shambo Buchen, Cameron and Peyton Hancock, three great grandchildren; Ryan Shambo, Hartley Buchen, Tyler-James Shambo, and her loving sister, Judy White.  A service to celebrate Gayle's life will be held at the South Oak First Baptist Church of Lake Placid on January 18, 2025.  Times to be announced.
