Manuel Angel Viera Ortiz, 80, of Lake Placid went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring. Manuel was born on April 21, 1942 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. He was the son of Juana Ortiz and Leonardo Viera. Manuel has been a resident of Lake Placid for 47 years, moving here from Puerto Rico. He was a successful entrepreneur, most notably the owner and operator of an automotive parts business. Manuel was an active member of the Iglesia Metodista Unida Nuevo Pacto in Sebring. He was a car enthusiast, enjoyed working on his properties, and was a passionate baseball fan. Manuel loved to be with his family and friends anytime they could get together, and especially cherished time with his grandchildren. Manuel is survived by his wife of 57 years, Martha, sons Manuel, Luis, Javier, 7 grandchildren, and two siblings. A funeral service to celebrate Manuel's life will be held at 6:00 PM, Tuesday (Today), November 1, 2022, at the Iglesia Metodista Unida Nuevo Pacto, 5535 Highway 27 South, Sebring with Pastor Luz Maldonado officiating.
