Malcolm W. "Bill" Ross, IV, of Lake Placid went to be with his Lord on Monday morning June 11, 2012 in Sebring. Bill was a native of Highlands County born in Avon Park on May 21, 1960 to parents Ellie (O'Shields) and Malcolm W. Ross III. Bill was a graduate of the Lake Placid High School class of 1978 and then went on to college where he received his electrical engineering degree. Bill worked for several years in St. Petersburg with Florida Power then moving back to Lake Placid and working as a Distribution Operations Manager for Progress Energy. Bill enjoyed fishing, boating, waterskiing and a good game of basketball and loved spending time with his family and friends. Bill was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Placid. Mr. Ross is preceded in death by both of his parents and is survived by his loving wife of 19 years Joanie, son, Dylan; sisters, Linda C. Ross and Nancy Rarden. A service to celebrate Bill's life will be held 2:00 PM this Saturday June 16, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Lake Placid 119 E. Royal Palm Street, Lake Placid. The family will receive friends a half hour prior to the service. Dr. Rick Nations, Rev. Rick Bythe and Rev. Brett Morey will be leading the celebration. The family suggest donations in Bill's memory be made to the First Baptist Church of Lake Placid Youth Ministries Program.
