On February 26, 2022, Lowell Guy ("Spike") Bruce, 85, left this earthly life and went to his heavenly home, happily led by his Savior, Jesus Christ. He looked forward to seeing his family and friends gone before him, once again. Spike was born on January 3, 1937, to Fred ("Bud") and Lucille (Burroughs) Bruce in Buchanan Michigan. Spike was active in Berrien County Michigan, making friends wherever he went. He served on the Berrien County Youth Fair Board of Directors, was the Berrien Township Supervisor for 14 years, Berrien County Drain Commissioner for 16 years and was selected President of the State Drain Association, all while farming and raising a family. In 1959, Spike married the love of his life, Henrietta Heritz, and together they raised three wonderful and now very successful children: Barbara (Del) Rockwell, Robert ("Bob") (Beth) Bruce, and Brian (Mary) Bruce. Together they blessed Spike with seven grandchildren: Del and Cody Rockwell (sons of Barbara and Del), Emilie, Kelly, and Collin (daughters and son of Bob and Beth), and Anna Kieran and Tyler Buck (daughter and son of Brian and Mary). Plus, a great granddaughter, Lucille Garrett (daughter of Kelly Bruce and Wayne Garrett). Spike and Henrietta took many trips together over the years and shared many wonderful memories. After Henrietta's passing in 2016, Spike became a permanent resident of Florida, something they had planned to do together. Spike always said, "I have a Good Life and Good Wife".
