Louise (Hulda) Francis, 90, of Lake Placid passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family on May 14, 2026. Louise was born on April 28, 1936, in Altro, (Breathitt County), Kentucky to Willie Thompson and Susan Jane (Deaton) Thompson. Louise has been a resident of Lake Placid since 1994, moving here from Lexington, Kentucky to enjoy retired life. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who enjoyed gardening, bowling, playing softball in her younger years, an avid University of Kentucky wildcat fan, traveling, family gatherings, and living everyday with the greatest since of humor. Louise is survived by three children; Teresa (Joel) Scrafton, Suzette Durham, Jonni Lynn Francis, four stepchildren; Debera (Marty) Mertz, Carolyn Francis, Paula (Chuck) Neville, Steven (Sandra) Francis and a grandson whom she raised, Shawn C. Francis, along with 13 other grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, John C.
