Louis E. Carroll, 92, of Lake Placid went to be with his Lord on Tuesday afternoon October 25, 2011 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring. He was a survivor, a worker, a true jolly Irishman, a fisherman and a joy to everyone he knew. He was born on October 23, 1919 in Claremont, NH to parents Vincent and Marie (Leonard) Carroll. He served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS Blue before and during WWII and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. A retired executive for Equitable Life Insurance Co., he moved to Lake Placid 13 years ago from Naples, FL and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW, AmVets and St. James Catholic Church. He enjoyed married life with his wife Anne Carroll and their seven children for many years and He is survived by his second loving wife of 24 years Carol Carroll, daughters; Louanne, Mary Christine and Diane, sons; John, Michael, James and Brian, 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
