Leonard Lemar Worley Sr., 94, of Lake Placid, FL went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at this residence. Leonard was a native Floridian who was born in Chipley on October 19, 1931. He was the son of Mellie (Singeltary) and Hozie Worley. Leonard has been a resident of Highlands County for sixty years, moving here from Chipley. He worked as a diesel mechanic for many years with the Lykes Brothers before retiring. He was a member of The Ministry Center in Sebring. Leonard enjoyed fishing at the local lakes and gardening around the house, and he loved to be with his family and friends whenever they could get together. Leonard is preceded in death by his loving wife Geraldine (Adams) Worley, daughter; Debi Turner, son-in law; Tim Pittman and he is survived by his loving children; Marty Worley (Nerissa), Steve Worley (Sherry), Lenny Worley (Jennifer), Diana Pittman, Jimmy Worley (Kathy), Gilbert Worley (Lara) and Savon Cooper (Fred), 18 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. A service to celebrate Leonard’s life will be held 11 AM, Friday, June 19, 2026, at The Ministry Center 8475 Sparta Road Sebring with Pastor Melinda Brown officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery where Leonard will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife Geraldine.
