Leola Marie Stansel, 91, of Lake Placid went to be with her beloved Lord on Sunday afternoon May 18, 2014 at the Lake Placid Health Care Center. Leola was born on July 8, 1922 in Kingfield, Maine to parents Bertha (Myers) and Maurice Brackett. A former resident of Miami, Leola became a resident of Lake Placid in 1986 moving here from Arcadia. A homemaker, Leola was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Placid. She is preceded in death by her brother, Willard Pratt and her loving husband, Dale. Leola is survived by her two sisters, Polly Billick and Ruth Henshall; three children, Vance Stansel, Wayne Stansel and Sandra Norvesh; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Leola's life will be held 1:00 PM on Saturday July 12, 2014 at the Scott Funeral Home 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid with Pastor Mike Ford officiating.
